Hsin-Ting Feng

Ms. Feng is the founding director of the Royal Stage School of Music.  Her goal for RSSM is to build bridges within communities both near (bringing musicians together from neighboring towns) and far (helping different organizations) through the use of music.  She has an extensive background in both conducting and performing music.  Under Ms. Feng's direction, her students has performed on numerous stages including Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center.  Previously, she was on the NJ All-State Orchestra Committee for five years. For two years, she was the Intermediate Orchestra Chairperson of Central Jersey Music Educator’s Association. She was the conductor and coach of the New Jersey Youth Symphony. In addition, she was honored as one of the Governor’s Award Judges for five years. During her graduate studies, she was the Teaching Assistant of String Class I and II at the prestigious Eastman School of Music. Prior to that, she comes with five years experience as Orchestra Director of three elementary schools in the Toms River Regional Schools. During that time, she served as the Program Manager and Host of the NJ All State High School and Intermediate Orchestra Audition. In 2002, Ms. Feng worked closely with the All State Intermediate Orchestra as the Assistant Manager, which she then succeeded in 2003, as the All State Intermediate Orchestra Manager. With her passion to work with leading young talented students, she became the Orchestra Director of the Affettuoso Tour Ensemble for three years performing across NJ and the Conductor of the Garden State Philharmonic Prep Orchestra. In parallel, she served as the Program Director and Conductor of the Ocean County College’s Orchestra Summer Program and was a guest teacher at American String Teacher’s Association Summer Conference. Ms. Feng was the Orchestra Director of the Toms River Adult Community School as well as the Toms River Regional School’s Summer School Program. She performed as a violinist with the St. Peter by the Sea Orchestra and also volunteered as a music and dance teacher to Foster Children from China. In her spare time, Ms. Feng continues to be a piano accompanist for her students and peers as she has in the past.  In 2008, Ms. Feng participated in the Music Together training, specializing in early childhood music.  

Ms. Feng received her Bachelor of Music Degree with Distinction in Music Education on Piano and Violin from the Eastman School of Music. She was awarded the George Eastman Merit Scholarship and the Schlenkler Merit Scholarship. In her continued education, she received her Master of Music Degree in Music Education from the Eastman School of Music which also earned her the Kanable Scholarship and the Eastman Department Assistant Award.
